The Main Benefits of Led lighting
Some of the main benefits of led downlights over halogens are Brightness, Heat and Cost. Have a read below if you would like to read more info on why led's are far superior to the older halogen style globes.
Heat
Halogen globes themselves as well as old Iron core ballast get extremely hot in your roof space, the bulbs themselves can get up to temperatures of between 260-700 Celsius. New led Downlights can only get up to maximum 60-70 Celsius, greatly reducing the risk of any fire occurring within your roof space.
Cost
Halogen lights are expensive to run as they are not an efficient source of light as a large amount of lost energy is lost to heat when creating light. Led downlights over halogen are 90% cheaper to run, in turn saving money in the long run, as your electricity bill is greatly reduced.
Brightness
Led downlights are vastly brighter at a much lower wattage. A standard led downlight is about 8-12 watts in power draw, where as a standard halogen is 35 watts . An led downlight that is rated at 10 watts in lumens is 800-900 lumens where as a halogen is 400-500 lumens. An Led light uses less power and creates a brighter home or office while doing so.
How much to install new LED downlights?
Depending on the fitting chosen by the client, our prices for direct swap overs for halogen to led start at $70 plus gst per downlight. This includes the disconnection of the existing light, installing a new plug base for the light to plug into and the installation of the new downlight, including clean up of the area and disposal of all of the old fittings into the rubbish.

When onsite we use drop sheets to cover any area in which we are working to make sure we keep your home or office as clean as we find it. As well as giving it a vacuum once finished, including using parts that have a solid warranty and will last.
